Let me tell you how I came to add welded jewellery to my business.It all started with a serendipitous encounter at a permanent makeup conference.I stumbled upon a pop-up store showcasing the elegance of permanent jewellery. Initially, I hadn't paid much attention, but that all changed when I was offered a free bracelet on the final day.Instantly captivated by its delicate design and weightless feel, I was hooked.No clasp to worry about, just effortless beauty.After the conference, I checked out my local area but couldn't find many places that offered permanent jewellery. That's when it struck me - there was an opportunity waiting to be seized. Q: What is permanent jewellery?
A: Permanent jewellery is a custom-fit bracelet, anklet or necklace that is hand welded to provide a seamless join, rather than having a fiddly or unsightly clasps. Also known as welded jewellery.Q: How does it work?
A: You choose your chain, and any charms you would like, and I will then measure the chain to fit you perfectly before joining the two ends of the chain together to create a seamless join – no fiddly or unsightly clasp!Q: Can anyone have permanent jewellery?
A: My insurance requires that you are 18 years or older to have welded jewellery.
Under 18's can still enjoy a bespoke, custom-sized piece of jewellery - I'll just add a small clasp for you.
If you have allergies to metals / alloys, permanent jewellery may not be suitable for you.
If you have a pacemaker fitted, permanent jewellery is not suitable for you.Q: What if I need to remove my permanent jewellery?
A: No Problem at all! Just use a pair of nail clippers or small snippers to cut through the welded jump ring and save your piece somewhere safe. When you are ready, just come back and see me to have it re-welded.Q: How long does it last?
A: Your permanent jewellery will last you months to years, depending on the style of chain you choose, the material the chain is made from, your lifestyle, and any products you use (e.g. perfumes, lotions, potions, chemicals, etc)Q: Can I wear my jewellery through an airport?
A: Fine jewellery such as permanent jewellery should not cause you any issues with most airport security scanners.Q: What if I need to have an MRI scan?
A: Please check with your radiologist providing your scan.
Most ferrous metals are not permitted to be worn during an MRI scan. You can tell if your jewellery contains ferrous metals by holding a magnet over it. If the jewellery is drawn towards the magnet, it contains ferrous metal.
If you have to remove your permanent jewellery, just snip through the welded jump ring and keep your piece somewhere safe until you are ready to have it re-welded.Q: I like the idea of a custom-fit piece of jewellery but I prefer to be able to take it off when I want, e.g. to shower, when I go to bed, etc.
A: No problem! I don't want you to miss out - just mention to me at your fitting that you would like a clasp adding. (A small additional fee applies).Q: Are you available for private events or pop-ups?
A: Absolutely! Permanent jewellery is such a great addition at wedding receptions, birthday parties, hen-do’s, and so much more!
I’m also happy to host a pop-up at your place of work, e.g. a beauty salon, hairdressing salon, office, etc.

Permanent Jewellery West Sussex - Booking Terms
You must be 18 years old or over to have permanent jewellery.Permanent Jewellery is not suitable if you are fitted with a pacemaker.We reserve the right to refuse a booking or permanent jewellery fitting for any reason.Permanent Jewellery may not be suitable if you have allergies to metals / alloys. Should you decide to proceed with having permanent jewellery fitted, you assume the risk of an allergic reaction and will be required to sign a waiver to this effect prior to fitting.BOOKINGS
Permanent Jewellery fittings are by appointment only. Bookings may be made via our online booking system, or by contact us by phone or email.
A non-refundable booking fee OF £15 is required to confirm your appointment.FREE WELDING SERVICE FOR 15 DAYS
If your chain breaks at the original welded point within fifteen (15) calendar days of the initial welding service, please contact me to arrange for a complimentary repair. Please note that the complimentary repair service is only available during this 15-day period. It is your responsibility to contact me to arrange a mutually agreeable date and time for your repair to be undertaken.If your chain has been broken due to snagging / chain breakage, then a replacement or repair cost may be charged. Please contact me to discuss.RESCHEDULING / CANCELLATIONS
I require a minimum of 48-hours’ notice for ANY rescheduling of booked PERMANENT JEWELLERY appointments.
You may reschedule your appointment ONCE without incurring any additional fees (i.e. the booking fee paid to secure your original appointment will be transferred). Should you reschedule your appointment a second time, a new non-refundable booking fee will be required to secure your new appointment. Should you wish to reschedule your appointment again (i.e., for a third time or more), you may be requested to pay for your permanent jewellery in full at the time of booking in order to secure a new appointment.SPECIAL ORDERS
The styles of chains and charms that I carry in stock are based on those which tend to be the most popular.
I offer a special-order service for other chain or charm styles. Please contact me to discuss your requirements whereupon I will provide you with a quotation and anticipated lead time for delivery.Special orders will only be confirmed upon your written acceptance of my quote to you, and upon payment in full for your chosen piece of jewellery.Please note that payment is non-refundable once I have submitted an order to my supplier.
Where possible, your fitting booking will also be confirmed at this time.Please note that factors outside my control may require me to reschedule your booking, e.g. stock availability or delivery issues with my suppliers. I will keep you informed of progress with your special order and if necessary, will work with you to reschedule your fitting for a mutually agreeable date and time.GROUP BOOKINGS
Each permanent jewellery fitting at my Thakeham location must be booked individually / per person. I do not currently have the facilities to accommodate a group booking.However, if you would like to discuss booking a permanent jewellery fitting at your home for a group of friends or family, please contact me to discuss your requirements.Please note that the size of a group required for a group booking is determined by the number of people wishing to have permanent jewellery, rather than by the number of items to be fitted.PERMANENT JEWELLERY SPECIAL OFFERS
Only one special offer shall apply per person per permanent jewellery fitting.POP-UP & PRIVATE EVENTS
If you would like to host a Permanent Jewellery Pop Up event, e.g. at your place of work, at a hairdressing or beauty salon, Summer fayre, wedding reception, hen-house / hen-do, etc, please get in touch to discuss your requirements so that I can tailor your booking terms appropriately.GIFT CERTIFICATES
Gifts Certificates (both electronic and paper) are valid for the amount and time period stated on the certificate. Any certificate that has been altered, defaced or damaged (e.g. such that it becomes illegible) shall be rendered immediately invalid without exception.
Lost or stolen Gift Certificates shall not be replaced or refunded and are not redeemable for cash in full or part.
For clients wishing to pay for their Permanent Jewellery in full or part with a Gift Certificate, they must still pay a non-refundable booking fee to confirm their booking and the standard cancellation terms shall apply.
If the total value of the client’s Gift Certificate(s) is equal to the total price of their chosen permanent jewellery, upon completion of their fitting, they should surrender their Gift Certificate(s) as full payment, whereupon their booking fee will be refunded to the original booking fee payment source (provided no cancellation terms have been invoked).SPECIAL OFFERS
From time to time, I may advertise special offers, either on my website or via my social media accounts. The terms and conditions of any such offers shall apply without exception.
Please note that all special offers are not combinable (i.e. you may not take up two different special offers for the same booking / fitting.
